Cocomero (6/114)

With the temperature reaching a high of 90F this week, the lab rats find themselves walking all over campus for their experiments. So, we decided to take a break and go to the ever popular frozen yogurt shop on campus - Cocomero!

As can be expected, the place was pretty packed because of the heat.

For anyone who haven't been to a place like this, Cocomero is basically a self serve place where you pay by the ounce.
All you have to do is grab a green cup, pick your favorite flavors and pull on the handle.

Once you have all the fro-yo you want, they also have a large selection of toppings you can add!
Tiffany went crazy with  the frozen yogurt and got 6oz! She had a mix of red velvet, cookies and cream and chocolate froyo, with a mix of toppings including grahm cracker dust, white chocolate chips and other toppings (hard to remember them all!)

Yanfen decided to try their honeydew bubble tea instead. (It is interesting that they decided to americanize the boboa tea and rename it bubble...)

Final Review

Environment - 10/10

As soon as you walk in, you are hit by bright colors, dazzling walls and futuristic seating. I swear this place would turn a pessimist into an optimist from the interior design alone. It's perfect for a cute date, or a girl's night out. By looks alone I would definitely pair this with spoonhouse. There's plenty of people here making it feel warm and welcome, but not enough people that there are lines for the froyo.

I love froyo. It is amazing. The only thing more amazing is gelato. To elongate my sentences, I will now tell you why this froyo is pretty good, but not the best I've ever had. My biggest complaint is that the froyo comes out goopy. Seriously. It doesn't come out firm like a normal soft serve machine, but instead comes out in some half melted disturbing state. I've also noticed (I've been here a couple times..) they don't ever change their flavors where other places I've been to have different flavors of the week. They do have enough flavors to keep you entertained. For now. The toppings themselves are of a good variety with fresh fruit and delicious candy/chocolate toppings.

I love the bubble tea from Cocomero! They make the bubble tea from fresh ingredients. The bubble tea taste exactly like the real fruit and was very good. For those who have never tried bubble tea, the are boboas or tapioca balls at the bottom of the smoothie. You get a big straw to suck it up with,. These bobas just taste sweet and have a stretchy, bouncy texture.

I definitely recommend trying one!
